Body

Body is a special gift But taken for granted Made a slave by the mind When abused boomerangs on the mind And.. Age may tone down Both body and mind But the intelligence when nurtured Will guide us in the knowledge that Change is but inevitable Eventually.. Where it came from It will head right back there But stays a faithful companion In this journey of life So.. Let's respect our body like divinity Treat it with dignity Listen to it in silence Respond to it by speaking its language Let's love our body like our life It began with life, Ends with life And made us believe for a long time while the intelligence slept That it is "I" :-)

Sweet Smile

Is taken for granted Never understood for the depth and meaning it has.   Delivered using muscles more and heart less, For the sake of formality more and for the sake of joy less.   It seems so tough to smile as Mind chooses to remember the wrong, Ego can’t love anyone but itself, Melancholy wins over celebration, Heart yearns to love but the mind refuses to forgive, One chooses to keep the hatred and fear in others alive, Without which one’s own fears and doubts surface, And in many a person Intelligence thinks to itself whether the world is worthy of a smile now.   But a smile when genuine can Convey the message of the heart through the eyes, Remove the awkwardness of the moment, Replace doubt with faith, Eases the tension in the air, Bring a smile on another’s face, Make the existing bonds stronger,   Make even a stranger, a friend, Can dissolve the bound

Story of the Eyes

Image
I show you the magnificent dawn when the glorious sun rises up the orange sky, I bathe you in the moonlight of the romantic moon at night, I entertain you with the dance of the young green leaves, And the flight of the white birds across the blue sky, I show you the love in the eyes of your loved ones, But Alas! You are too lost in your thoughts, Regretting that which can’t be undone, Forgetting gratitude for what you have and wishing for more, If only you would free yourself from your thoughts, I could then bring tears of joy to you and rekindle love in your heart, By relishing the sights I lay in front of you. I do the same for your pet, Whose brain is far smaller than yours, And though he cannot imagine, He is at least not lost For he relishes your sight a nd your loving pat So completely that you too forget yourself in his company Come dear friend embrace the beauty that surrounds you, Not everyone is born lucky to have a beaut

Expectations

From whom does one have an expectation? Generally it is from self, children, spouse, colleagues, teachers and friends etc. Based on conditioning there will be some expectations set, where one is expected to have moral values, be rich, and be successful and so on. These expectations are set by parents, competition amongst siblings, peers and experiences during the growing years and beyond. Obvious is the influence of parents but in a subtle manner the other factors also come into play. When we become aware of these factors, one needs to re-evaluate these expectations and set reasonable expectations from one’s own self; else we may land up being unhappy trying to satisfy unreasonable expectations. For example a child who has seen criticism for non-achievement and praise for good marks by the people he interacts with, be it parents, teachers or peers may grow up with the attitude that to fail in something is not acceptable, so instead if effort could be appreciated and acceptance ta

Cribbing and Complaining

Why do we crib and complain? Possible reasons could be Total absence of gratitude for what one is gifted with and taking for granted what one has, be it the ability to see , walk , talk etc., or having a family. Constant comparisons and thereby the need to prove that one is at par if not exceeding others. Need to control everything and everyone. To continuously prove one’s own greatness or self worth by emphasising on others faults. To ensure that all concerned know that one is working hard, this could happen in scenarios where the nagging person needs to be appreciated due to low self esteem and is receiving none. To feel a victim in life – the reason for which could be once again lack of self esteem, self confidence and lack of pride for what one does. Feeding one’s own EGO by pointing out the weakness or fault of someone Too self obsessed and lack of ability to get into others shoes Simply having nothing worthwhile to speak about, nagging suits one fin
