My cute little nephew

My brother and sister-in-law's baby boy was born day before yesterday and I eagerly rushed to the hospital in the evening to see my nephew...

 

As I looked into the face of my nephew, time stood absolutely still, I forgot everything and saw only the wonder in front of me, I was smiling so much and was filled with such selfless joy that reflecting on that moment now, I can understand what enlightenment could probably mean, it would probably be a permanent state of such joy.

I saw the most wonderful sight ever, the small little eyes which opened to look at us was filled with such pure innocence that it kindled a deep beautiful emotion in me. His tiny pink hand with the long slender fingers was like trying to create something in the air or maybe simple captivating us all with some magic in them. And then he opens his small little mouth with the red lips as if to show us how he can bring the universe to his attention by that one single gesture.

Being the mother of two adorable teenage sons, I was surprised at how much the mother in me never stops to be surprised and so awed beyond all words at this human wonder especially when one is as adorable as this cute little nephew of mine.
